Paul Sheard heading for his second win of the day:

The day ended with an accident at Knickerbrook when Frank Hynds Legend blew an engine and dumped a lot of oil on the track. The top four cars went off into the gravel with one driver (John J Higgins) unconscious. There was a re-start once the mess had been cleaned up. The final was won by Chris Grieve:
