BEST SETTINGS FOR MUSIC CONCERTS

i recently took some fotos of a gig i went to but they did not turn out the best was wondering everyones opinion of what to use etc at a music gig, i run a canon 400D

First of all welcome to POTN.

Second - the search function is your friend! Try the sticky in the Performing Arts section for some pointers.

Third - the settings for shooting concerts vary wildly as each concert the conditions are different not to mention different styles used by different photographers.

Some general rules though for decent concert photography.
Use fast lenses for better results
Keep your shutter speed high enough to avoid blur
Don't be afraid to pump up your ISO
And last NO FLASH!!! (unless absolutely necessary)

at le mans is the best setting for me! (failing that, its a high ISO & avoid the mosh pit with your camera)!
