post a pic of your steed, or you riding your steed, if you do.

when i'm not taking photos i'm usually on my bike. i'm into the downhill/freeride scene that seems to be taking over the sport and i'm on my universities team. i love the speed, adrenaline and jumps :] anyone else into this kind of riding or cross country biking?

Bought a MB but used it few times. Now it's a nice piece of decoration.

I'll try to post a photo of it.

Right now I'm riding a 2001 GT Avalanch. Have only rode 2x this years because of tendonitis in my shoulder. It really sucks.
This is me on Burnaby Mountain in B.C.

If you want it to be. What kind of riding do you do? Light trail riding? Cross Country? Freeride/Downhill?
It seems to me that the 7000 is an entry level light trail riding hybrid thats good on the road. If that the kind of riding you do, then it's probably fine. Anything more then it could not only be too heavy but not built to withstand punishment.

I still MTB, but not very often. I used to be into dirt jumping bmx pretty heavy. Good times. I still kick it now and again on my Elf, or Auburn. Nothing like a pedal in the shin :)

dirt jumping is awesome but it's the area of riding i have the least experience in. and damn right platform pedal eat you up. my right hsin is nothing but scars.

Ahh, I land right foot back, so my left shin has more scars than my right. It really sucks when you think you nailed the landing, but the ball of your foot is just behind center of the pedal, then it snaps up superquick. Oww. I had a bad habit of trying to land stuff, even though I was a bit squirrely, when I should have bailed. Always makes for good stories to tell your other friends though :)

"Dude, I pulled this wicked superman seat-grab to nothing, but then......"

He continued with his story, as the salty crimson babbled from his leg like a brook.

"I had it all tweaked out too. I shouldn't have gone for the barspin at the end though, because......"

I wear leg and arm armour so I don't get those nasty gashes. I use to get them when I first started riding. Those 1/4-20 set screws can actually scrape bone.
A couple times I was riding some steep downhill and launched off a drop with my ass right back over the rear wheel (headers suck too) and had my feet come off the pedals when I landed. The result was a horrific body surfing ride lying on either the boys or my belly on the seat. Now that sucks!

Sure, maybe it is fairly light. My GT is 26 lbs. But that's cross country too. Some dual suspension DH bikes are 35 lbs plus. Definitely not made for pedaling around on the trails.
Lets see a photo.

I only have a Trek 4900. It's decent enough for how often I ride, I guess. Last time out I peeled off a bit of palm, and lodged a few rocks in my elbow

I haven't ridden at all this year... well, except with my woman, but that's not "riding".

stay with road biking! of course there is the stray truck going 60mph,
that somehow didn't see me...= 3wks hospital time, 6 mo. no riding.

Owie! Yes that looks like it pains a little. I remember these shots you showed before.

So far my road experience has proven to be more dangerous but I have way more spills on the mountain.
I was struck by a car 9 years ago and ended up in hospital for a week with a fractured vertebrae.
On the mountain I've lost miles of skin, broke a helmet, sprained ankle, sprained wrists 3 times, broken ribs, black eye, numerous cuts and bruises. Nothing all too serious.

only action shot i have. i'm the one with the camera and i never want to take it riding.

ouch, those pics look hurtful. i'm really good about falling when i do. i don't know what it is but i swear there's a little skill involved in body positioning to reduce chance of injury. all about the tuck and roll. :]

no safety gear cause i was just practicing in my parking lot.

I have a KHS but it currently has road bike tires on it because there are no trails around here. :( And since riding on the street around here is certain death, I haven't used it in about a year. I used to ride all the time.

I mayl take a picture when I get home. :)

Bring that bike to eastern Tennessee - there's a few trails on this side of the state.

I'd enjoy mountain biking as well, if I weren't so old and tore up! ;)

Guys, this is killing me. I'm told that I work for the worlds largest manufacturer of bikes. OK so some folks don't believe that I actually work but I do  Do some wrenching for a couple of DH and XC teams and to fill the voids, do some sales too.
Now the big question is "How come ya'll don't ride a Giant?"
Lets hear the excuses.

I wear Giant socks.
I have a Giant hat, but my head's too big and I can't wear it.

Is that anything like riding a Giant bike?

because i'm in tight with a couple of shop owners and the specialized road frame was almost free. i have a custom scanduim TT frame. Giant doesn't make my size. i would like another road frame in 54cm, i like the compact geometry. PM if you have access to one.

When I'm in the market for a new bike I promise that I will most seriously talk to you personally.
My Gt is for sale as I am trying to raise money for studio lighting.
