Posted this on another photography forum, with little replies or critiques. Since most here like to delve into this I wanted to post it here too, the BEST photo forum in the universe.. LOL

Critiques welcomed, I would like to print this but I need to know if it's worth the paper it's going to be printed on. I'm thinking 8X10 or 11X14.

Looks OK to me with the exception that the flower comes frighteningly close to the frame on the left side. Other than that; its A OK.

I really like this. But the only thing is if you are printing this for framin then you should really remove the black border. Especially if you are using a mat. As for the flower I really think that the distance the flower reaches from the "picture" is important. The only problem I have is that the particular petal is so different than the others that it looks as if the flower is stretching beyond what is reasonable or that it has been manipulated.
But still this is a very good image. Be sure to use high quality ink and paper.

I agree about the pedal, but... It is the ORIGIONAL petal, it was actually created that way by nature... I plan on going out this weekend to get another shot of a better flower to check that out.

That's a nice picture.
The effect one wants to create with a pop-out is a that everything looks real except for the part of the picture popping out of the framing. Therefore I have some preferences:
1. No drop shadow from the picture on the matte. Normally a framed image is put under a matte that is cut out.
2. No drop shadow from the title on the matte since titles or written on the matte or picture itself, not on the glas of the frame.
3. The title and artists signature should be on the same level, picture or matte, not on both.
3. Let a part of the picture come out of the frame too.
Here's an example of what I mean but you have to ignore the greyish background and the black thin frame of this web-site. The effect would be the best on a complete white background.
