I am wondering how to see how much battery life is left in the batt. The manual only talks abt the low batt indication flashing when its dying. Any idea from anyone?

When it flashes -- change your battery -- it shuts down quickly after you see it flash.

No 'gas gauge' so-to-speak.

Dig your handle!

Oh well. Thanks Mac. Its strange that there is no "gas-gauge". I thought its a standard "requirement" in all electronics device. *shrugs*

This sounds crazy. But is there any other way to gauge how much battery life is left?

No way to gauge other than 'gut' feeling after you get some experience with your Ixus 430.

I found some inexpensive generic batts on eBay that have higher mAh ratings and cost me something like $9.95 U$D plus shipping -- would think you could come up with something similar in Singapore.

The batts charge in the Canon charger and seem to work great -- no problems so far.

Good Luck!
