I have just concluded an agreement for one of my shots to be used in some satellite TV programs covering the Legends racing series. It will appear in each episode, a total of 60 broadcasts. The first broadcast is on Sky Sports this coming Wednesday in the UK. Apart from everything else, I do get full on screen credit as the stills photographer. Am I pleased, you bet your socks I am. This is the shot they are using:

1D, 300 2.8 and 1.4TC

There is an old saying that we all get our five minutes of fame. I sort of think this is mine.

I got this shot because, when every other photographer had left the circuit as they thought that nothing exciting was happening and it was getting somewhat late, I stayed on 'until the fat lady sings'. A good rule for any sports photographer, you never know when that once on a lifetime moment will happen. Get there first and leave last.

Wow, Kenny! Great capture. That's incredible timing. Very intense crash.

I hope all parties involved were able to walk away from that one.

Sky Sports 3 at 5pm on Wednesday, just titled Motorsport.

Not only are they team mates, they are brothers. Both walked away with nothing more than bruises and hurt pride.

The Legends boys (oops, and girls) are a great bunch of people. Very competitive on track but the best of friends off. I have never worked with such a friendly lot as these. They really take you into their 'family'.

Wow, awesome. Congratulations!

Your compensation for this shot alone must have
been sufficient to cover the cost of that 300L 2.8 IS
you used! I'm so jealous, but feel happy for you too.

Thanks CDS and everyone. The program listings have been updated and the actual title is "Legends" surprise, surprise. For UK readers it is on Sky Sports 3 at 5pm and again at 9pm on Wednesday, then a couple of more repeats plus new programs in the series.

I'll try a bit of video capture and let you see how it comes out.

I just seem to be having one of those weeks, what with the advert, the TV usage plus I have just been informed that I have all the photographic content in a club racing magazine. This is in addition to what I normally get published in a month. How can I get 30 hour days?

We call them "interns" here. Do they have interns in the UK?
