I want to shoot cars crusing at night

what camera settings do you use and what shutter speeds do you use I tryed to mess around with it little bit on my steet but I could not get the light trail

I want to shoot cars crusing at night

Meter ambient light (meter in Av or Tv if you don't have a light meter, I don't). Then set your camera manually under-exposing by 2-3 stops. Aperture 5.6 or 8 works for me. Make sure flash is turned on. Fire away.

Oh yes, 1/15 sec or slower.

Use a longer shutter speed. The longer you want the light trails, the longer the shutter should be open. Make sure you use a tripod or the the trails are going to be wavy.

I don't usually use a flash, but here is some examples of what I got using 30sec shutter and aperture stopped down to max...or so.
