non is 500l

Does anyone have the 500 l 4.5 non is which came out just before the is version 500 l 4? I have a chance to buy one for a reasonable cost. Just want some inside info as to the quality of the lense and if it is managable without the is.

It's an awesome lens and very lightweight compared to the f/4.

It should however be priced WELL below the f/4 used.. usually $3,000.00 or in fact less...

It's disadvantage is that it can not be used with a 1.4X T-con and retain AF on any cameras other than the "1" sereis or Eos 3...

So the convertor will work with a 1ds?

It will work with all 1 series bodies. I have shot this lens on the Mark II and the D60 and love it. I don't personally own it, but have used it enough to know if I could get a good deal on one...Buy It.
