Thats it for examples? I gotta super deal awaiting for me and i am still unsure. Hear alot about flare issues, the fact it has a non-removeable lens hood, not much capability for lens filters, etc... i want real proof or examples.

Weird FL and slow so I wouldn't expect to many to have it.

You could try here:

It looks better suited to full frame where its really wide, have a look at these examples:

I've since found my copy soft at 15mm and intend to send it in to Sigma for a tuneup. Not sure if my copy is typical. Pretty damn sharp at 30mm though. I'm reserving judgement until Sigma has a chance to work their magic on my copy.
Flare - curved lenses like this are always subject to flare. With a little care, you can usually avoid it.
Non-removeable lens hood - not much of a problem unless the size of the lens is an issue.
Filters - can take an 82mm filter with the lens cap holder in place but will cause some vignetting at the wide end with a Cokin P filter even on a 1.6 crop body. I have not tried a low-profile 82mm CPL yet.

I sold my 15-30 a while ago but it did take some very good pictures though it was very slow. It's not suited to low to medium light with people, I found that wide open it was pretty yuck though once stopped down was quite good and great value.
Anyway, here's a few pics that I took with it on the 5D and 10D

I'm surprised at how few people post examples taken with the Sigma 15-30 as it's a very good lens - if stopped down a bit.
Just found a few so decided to post:

If it's stopped down a little I think it's a cracking lens. Wide open is not so good but f/5.6 up is good, f/8 is superb. I only sold mine to get the 16-35L and f/2.8 but if you're not working is low light and if it's at a good price it's well worth it.

I prefer the 16-35L but I thought that people on a tight budget or just testing the water in wide angle may find the 15-30 a good value lens able to turn out good results - and it flares less than the 16-35 mkI.

I also think the Sigma 15- 30mm is a nice lens for the money when one is very careful looking for flare and stops the lens down. Here's an image I took during a course.
I used my Canon EOS- 1D, Sigma 15- 30mm set between 15- 20mm as I recall on a tripod. It was just before sunrise and I used a 2,000,000 candle power portable lamp to illuminate the coquina rocks.

Andy,
I've noticed flare with this lens also. Using my hand or a PhotoFlex diffuser really helps or shooting from the shade. Always study the LCD to make sure no flare is present.
Great value for the money as you say....

Ha ha, Thanks Andy. I got it yesterday and took it out to the Griffith Park. Just cropped the top and bottom. From my experience with ultrawides (Canon 17-40mmL, Sigma 20mm, Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4, Sigma 10-20, Canon 10-22, Tokina 11-16). It's right up there with the Canon 17-40L and the Sigma 20mm f1.8 (which when I compared the two seemed to be in a similar ball park). I know it's for a cropped body but the Tokina 11-16 is still the sharpest ultrawide I've had by far.
Cropped the top and the bottom. Back at the Griffith Observatory.

I recently purchased this lens off of strat94 and have been having some fun with it lately. I was also able to create a 'little planet' with one shot from it, but I think that's more indicative of Photoshop's capabilities than the lens itself. ;)

I think I'll be letting go of this lens in the next week or two, so I figured I'd leave some thoughts for people considering it. It's a great lens overall, but I think I'd be better suited to a faster prime around the 28/30mm range.
The lens is big. I may be a bit biased from my lack of lens experience, but it's a big one, and it widens outward from the body to front element - if I didn't have it on my 30D, it was a bit of a pain to fit everything back into the bag.
At ISO 320 and 640, it functioned much better than I expected indoors. The 15-30mm range is extremely versatile for smaller spaces, which is why I picked it up in the first place. Flare is pretty hard to get around due to the bulbous front element, but it is very possible to raise your hand a bit out of the lens's range and eliminate flare - that could get a bit awkward if the light source is to your right, however. Regardless, large amounts of flare aren't common unless the sun is really creeping into your view.
The lens cap takes a bit of getting used to to put into place, but is made of the same sturdy metal as the lens. The focus ring is large and well-made, but when shifting the manual focus override on, autofocus speed is noticeably slower and louder.
Overall, I loved this lens from the wide side (faster panoramas/little planets) to the 'long' side (portraits). Regardless, I think I'll be looking at the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 for speed and quality.
(It really is a great lens, don't take it the wrong way that I've had it for such a short time. :) )

Pretty pleased with the lens considering the price point. I dont use it unless i need the focal lenght, but that kind of goes without saying doesnt it? Heres a recent pic that shows sharpness, and how it handles flare considering the large amounts of sun in frame:

I was shooting a music video yesterday and I used 15-30mm a lot. I just took couple of test photos nothing special. But this lens has definitely surprised me. I picked it up for almost no money and it's actually very capable.

I just purchased this lens off Ebay for almost nothing. I'm actually quite impressed. It is sharp and quick. The build feels solid. Oh, and did I say it was sharp?! Very underrated lens! For the money, I'll hold off on the 17-40L.
..until maybe the need for filters gets to me.

one more test sample just to show how sharp this lens really is...
I'm only selling mine since I need/want to use 77mm filters and do like the constant aperture of the 17-40, otherwise, the Sigma is unbelievable, even moreso at half the price of the 17-40.
