Hello all,

New comer to the forum with a quick question. Hope this is the right spot for it. If not, could a mod please move it for me?

Last winter, my fiance and I bought a Cannon Elph SD900 because we travel alot and wanted something easy for point-and-shoot, decent pictures. We've had a blast so far with the camera and it's taken some awesome shots. Problem is, a few months ago, the camera started to turn off randomly and we couldn't figure out why...and by turn off, I mean lose all power so the lense wouldn't retract. Turned out, the battery was having connection problems. For the last few months, we've been holding our finger over the battery "door" to keep the camera on. Well, a few weeks ago it finally kicked the bucket and we can't get it to turn on so we can shut it down properly to get the lense in.

I'm wondering if this is a common problem with an easy fix or if I'm going to have to ship it to Canon to wait while they take weeks upon weeks to fix it. Any guidance or insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

Not one I've heard of here. However, Canon USA's generally been pretty fast getting things fixed and back in your hands, not like some other locations.
