Pekka, have spent a bit of time with EE today ( thanks again ) and have found three things that would make wonderful additions to the program.
1) The ability to move the pictures within the program, as opposed to moving the thumb/microthumb and then moving the large pictures manually and then fixing their location.
2) I am finding that I upload my pictures, then need to go back and edit the header, text, keywords, location. Would be great if you could make an edit page that worked like the info cards view. Thumbnails and fields that could be edited for many of the variables. Edit a bunch of them, then hit save changes. This would beat the heck out of the one at a time method I use now.
3) Make it possible to edit the keywords in the power tools editor.

I do Question 2 using IPTC, I set all my values in IPTC then when I upload the photos , all of the details are there.
Location, Description, Keywords,categories etc.
The advantage of doing it in IPTC is that if you delete the photos and have to reload the photos, the details are there.
Question 3 is then not an issue if you do it using IPTC.

how do you add IPTC data to pics when you don't have any programs (other than EE) that know what IPTC is??

IPTC is what PhotoShop calls "File Info"
File - File Info.
I think most good photo software has its own IPTC.

I don't use Photoshop.
I actually use Picture Windows for editing.

But for most IPTC work, I use Photothumb.

The free Irfan Viewer also has some IPTC capabilities.

hummm... i don't use Photoshop... i use PaintShop Pro... an older version, though... it has a place where i can input stuff about the photo but its rather an open box/field... when i reload a photo with that i've added copyright and such to, it is not how i put it in... in any case, i've not been able to see any of the IPTC stuff in a photo from within PSP, either...

hehehe... define "good"

thanks, art... i'll see about checking those out... i also have the Gimp here and am trying to possibly start using it... dunno if it does EXIF and/or IPTC, though... anything else for platforms other than windows?? i also don't really want something that's going to invade my existing associations like irfanview has done in the past... that was one bugger that was tough to eradicate... 8)
i almost forgot the most important part! i prefer good tools that are free (or free for personal use )
