I have the exact same thing. I haven't spent enough time to get use to it.

I have an older version of that same tablet. I use it all the time, both the pen and mouse. The standard mouse that came with the PC, although it's still plugged in, just sits and sulks there in one corner, totally ignored and lonesome. :D

Best buy has this tablet on display, i felt the mouse the other day and realized it was a POS.
I also noted the $100 price tag and decided to save $20 and order it from newegg.

TQ
Give us an update on how you are getting on with it. I keep getting tempted, but then think " hey I am managing ok with the mouse" I dont want to spend the bucks and then keep it in a draw. Let us know how you get on.

i have an older graphier but man does that thing look way better. to be honest, for photo correction i only use it when i absolutely can't do something with the mouse, and to tell you the truth, my mouse skills can hold their. i use it more in illustrator when i have a design assignment to do.

Exactly! Just today i had a great photo of a little girl that i wanted to claim as a "keeper" but there are some kids in the backround that i want to clone out. I just couldnt get it right with the mouse...it's just not accurate enough. I'm not claiming this will fix my problems, but what i am hoping is that it will. It should be here by Wed. afternoon, i'll let you guys know what i think.

Looks really neat TQ, wish I had something like that. I'm managing with the below at the moment - perhaps I shouldn't have spent ALL my money on the camera :D

Funny to see this thread resurface. Just last night i was doing some PS'ing with my mouse when i thought "havnt used hte tablet in a while" And i started thinking "why did i spend the money on that" Then i remembered some other times when it has been a godsend...and all my fears were replaced with glee that i still have it when i need it.
So really i'm happy i have it, i just dont use it quiet as much as i thought i would. When i need to be precise...it's the only way to go.

Thanks Timmy :) woah you are up late like me hehehehe.....
But yup understand what you mean, looks like also the size most ppl get is the 6x8, I was thinking of the 9x12. But looks like 6x8 is just right for a lot of people, where 9x12 is a tad too big.

There are times when i feel like the 6x8 is too small for my moniter (thats what my eyes see and must tell my hand ya know) but the truth is the 6x8 is almost too big for the little desk i've got, that and it's a heck of a lot cheaper.
And yes, i kind of need to get to bed...i gotta go to work in 8 hours.

mmm understand mmmm I think I might then just go for the 9 x 12 but I think if you tweak the 6 x 8 nicely and get use to it, it will work just fine right? Anyways, thanks for your input, I will need to decide between 9x12 or 6x8 then.
Regards,
Ferdinand.

Frdinand.. fo what it's worth.. I HATE the 9X12" I used to use and Intous 9X12" at work a few years back.. and it greatly increases the amount of motion and thus work you have to do.. I very much prefer the size of my graphire.

CDS thanks sir, been doing a lot of other reading up on forums and it seems most ppl tend to go for the 6 x 8 at most.
As you mentioned 9 x 12 requires more, doesn't that mean you can work in greater detail?

I was thinking the exact oppisite. I was thinking that if I had the 9x12 I'd have an easier time. I'm so used to using my regular mouse that I have a hard time with the small work surface of the 4x5 tablet.
Maybe I just don't give myself enought time to get used to it. Most of the time I edit photos, they are rarely something I'm just playing around with so I just do what works best.

By the way, if the size of the tablet is bigger, can't we tweak the sensitivity so that all you have to do is move a little on the larger area to get a lot of movement on your screen?

I suppose you are right Ferdinand.. but then you'd be paying 4X the price to then use your 9X12" like a $99.000 dollar 4X6" ... ?
When doing drafting CAD work,. the larger the tablet has the advantage.. (though still at the cost of ergonomics) as the details become important..
...but in PS working on images as opposed to CAD files.. I have found the smaller tablets to have the advantage all the time. I have not used an "in between" size personally.. just the monstrous 9X12" and the diminutive 4X6"...
Again.. I'll take the 4X6" every time.
