How about a maximum perimeter in pixels? This way panoramics and other odd sizes won't be shrunk so tiny.

Interesting idea. I'll add this to my "to check" list. Thanks!
I have to calculate X and Y in formula
(2 X W/X) + (2 X H/Y) = P
while keeping aspect ratio between W and H equal to aspect ration between X and Y.
W = original width
H = original height
P = perimeter
Only problem I got 5/10 from maths in my graduation paper... :oops:

hallo
is there a way to compare the PhotoShop unsharp masking values with ImageMagick values (amount, treshold,sinus, radius)?
Or does exists a simulation tool where you can check the results of sharpening bigger pictures?
An example for thumbs is to find at

I installed ImageMagick on my PC (Windows 2000) and I found the the file converter.exe in ImageMagick but I did not find out how to use it. The only thing I can open with a frame menue is ImageMagick display..
any ideas
thanks
