Cute shot of the juvie downy. I like the second green though, nice reflection. More at the bottom would have been better, but, hard to notice that stuff while shooting. :)

Shoot in RAW and some post processing will go a long way. Mine above are all cropped from the original as well.

Nice images Allen. The Greenies are super and the Downy answers my question. I shot a similar one today and thought it was a juvie but then I started to think it could be molting adult.
As always, well done.

Ed, the Downy above is a juvie. The adult males have a red chevron at the back of the neck and no red on top. :)

Once I get this book I have on order to help with CS3 I'll start shooting more raw. Right now when I shoot raw and then edit the colors and contrast when I save it for some reason the editied image is not the same once saved as a jpeg over the raw PP. I know it sounds weird but it's like really screwed up.

Save in srgb not Adobe rgb in the raw settings.

I really like the second heron shot - even despite the incomplete reflection.
