DRebel buffer speed!

I played photographer at a wedding this weekend and shot RAW for the first time. I was very happy with the picture results and that I could fix a few of the pictures with exposure problems in PS BUT... I missed a shot or two because the camera was writing to the CF card. I have read on here 1000 times about the write speed being slowed by the camera's buffer speed, not the card. My queston is what speed card should I buy, 16X, 40X? Read speed is no issue I just want to get a card that will write just faster than the camera. Some would say "just buy an 80X and don't worry about it" but there is a money issue here so I am looking for just faster than the camera to save some money!!

And those who say buy an 80x card clearly are not the best informed.

You will notice a speed increase with a good 40x, but it will not be vast :)
