I just got back from London, On last night. Now I'm at work, pulling my hair out. It was my first trip to Canada, and I enjoyed it very much. It was kind of hard coming back. I didn't get a chance to take many pictures as I was a little busy having fun, enjoying the sunshine and drinking :P .

Either way, the point of this thread is:

Â*•If you're Canadian...... I ENVY YOU !
•If you're USAer and you've never been to Canada..... pack your stuff and take a trip. You won't wanna come back.

I'll post some of the pictures I took later today when I get home.

I loved my short time in Montreal.

If Canada ever gets a third season, I'll be there. But with 10 months of winter and 2 months of lousy snowshoe weather...

Chicago, and Illinois in general is pretty damned flat...
When I was drving from London to Port Stanley it was full of little hills, and pretty cool views. Spices things up so much more.
I also saw a canadian RWB on the side of the street hopping around :P

That's a really nice picture, jonnyhorizon

We have a hill.

It has been 10 years next month since I visited Canada. Went to Yukon Territory. Very beautiful country, with a very pleasant population.

I love heading to Canada for my hockey vacations. Thus far i been to Vancouver and Toronto. I fell in love with Vancouver while i was there about a 1 1/2 years ago very scenic and i wish i had a chance to head up to Whistle but that will want till next time. But don't get me wrong Toronto was great but bloody cold this past March. I just hope there is a NHL next season so i can hit Calgary, Edmonton and Ottawa.
I do admit those Canadians Do Love there Hockey.

Yes, been there done that. I must say I really like Canada a lot! Now any Canuck should know the relevance of that interesting avatar I have. It is just too bad what happened there. I hear it is a truly great city! I have done a lot of the US/Canada border from Buffalo up into Canada to Ottawa/Hull. I'm hoping one day to see some of the other coast like BC and that way. Sounds like a great holiday, doesn't it?

Any takers?

I spent every summer of my childhood up through Adulthood until about three years ago in Georgian Bay, Lake Huron, Ontario Canada...

...and can I just say that if you dropped a neutron bomb there and took out all the neuvo riche with there noisy speedboats and jetskis.... the place would once again become a paradise on earth.

(I'll never understand the motivation behind finding an idylic natural wonder like that and filling it with noise and pollution rather than enjoying it as it is :( ??? )

Anyway.. that part of my life is gone.. so this summer it is off to NewFoundland! (fewer noisy speedboats! )

That is the last remaining province that I have yet to visit. I hope to get that done this summer.

I spent some time in a nature park in Northern Alberta last fall. It would be so nice if people would leave these areas as they found them. How did a McDonalds coffee cup get there when the nearest one was probably a hundred miles.

I agree wholeheartedly on the speedboat thing. Makes kayaking a little rough every now and then.

Enjoy your trip.

For the past 12 or 13 years, I've been spending a week trout fishing in the British Columbia High Country each year. The Kamloops trout are fantastic fighters, and it's not unusual to catch a 10 pounder. The scenery is great, the people are great, and nothing tops the call of Loon, especially when it's so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I don't even bother fishing anywhere else now. Alberta's not bad, either, eh?

cmM,

If you like "eh," you've got to listen to some of Bob and Doug McKenzie's albums. Those guys are really cool.

Sounds like everyone is getting pumped for the up comming Canada Day holiday. :D
One thing I don't understand is why do so many people say that Canadians say eh? That kind of sounds like duh. :? What we canadians actually say is ay, not eh. Know what I mean ay?

cmM,

Speaking of Tuktoyaktuk, does anyone know what it means in English?

I do believe it is...it is East of the Yukon...it is a lot further North than I thought. Here's a pic: http://www.gov.nu.ca/Nunavut/English/about/nunavutmap.jpg
It has its own premier so that tells me it is its own province and so ti must be a province.

Tuktoyaktuk is roughly "resembling a caribou" and ok, so I cheated and googled it.

... I beleive they are still calling it a "territory"... it hs its own premeir because it is in fact set uo to be much more like it's own soverein nation than a Province...

This is possible...the jury is out, and at any rate it was part of the NW Territories till they made Nunavut. I am googling "Nunavut" to find out. No luck so far and it is 2240 here. Chat at you tomorrow, or whenever in the not too distant future.
