So Tomorrow I am going to possibly buy a new camera.
I have narrowed it down to the A570 or the SD1000

Any suggestions Pro or Con ?

Both are approx same price around the Boston Area.

thanks in advance.

honestly, I would never buy an A5xx model, and i've seen and used almost every point and shoot model to date! SD series is the way to go for an easy to use camera that comes with a charger and rechargable battery. Also nice the SD models started coming with hard plastic lcd windows molded on the cover, kind of a must with the increasing sizes of the screens. Hope that helps and enjoy

between the two i'd go with the 570 IS. more control plus you get IS. it also uses AA, for me that is a good thing;) it is slightly bigger that the sd1000.

I prefer the A series for the extra control; only go for the SDs if you don't want to be able to control shutter or aperture, ever.

ok well thanks folks I opted for the A series. Should be good for what I need it for.
Thanks again.

Post some examples of what you're getting that you're unhappy with, including the shooting data. Often a problem is as simple as the camera using too slow a shutter speed so the picture is blurred.

As you can see I shoot mostly at night but the day photos come out great as well.
As you can tell by the EXIF data longest exposure for the P & S is 15 seconds wish I had longer but that will come with the DSLR I buy eventually. in a few years ha ha.

Any ?? and comments about the photos are appreciated.
Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase.
