Just got my 10D & the 24-70 2.8L via Fed Ex. The battery is charging & I am going through the manual. Lots to learn & I am SURE I will have questions for this group. Thanks to all of you 'regulars' for helping me with my decision.

Oh, I don't think we are done helping you with your decisions...there's lots more left to buy and, I assume, some available balance on your credit card :)
Seriously, its a lot of fun... I think you will be happy in debtor's prison. Lots of great photo ops!

Yo, Scott! What happened? :?
Did you go AWOL with that camera?
It's been like 2 days. I think that's enough time to wipe the drool off your face and tell us how you and your new baby are doing, don't cha think? :o
OK ... guess some people just can't stop playing when they get new toys
Did anyone show him the accessories list? Maybe he got stuck there?

johneo,
I have had my 10D for three days now & haven't had much time to work with it..... very frustrating.
I got slammed with work and haven't had time to breath. I have taken a few 'snapshots' and all seams to be working fine. I hope to spend a lot more time this 4th of July weekend with the 10D.
Don't count me out, I'll be back.

I know what you mean. When I ordered my 10D I expecting it after 2 days and figured I had the weekend to wait.
UPS showed at my door just as I was leaving for work. Lucky for me :? it was raining or I would have taken that Thursday and Friday out. It wasn't until the next week I could get out and play because of the weather ... VERY frustrating, indeed!
Anyway ... have fun when you do use it!

After several years of pleasure with my EOS 5 I've also finally taken the plunge & purchased a 10D (along with a Sandisk 2Gb Ultra II CF card).
:x One thing that really annoyed me:
I now find that my 540EZ is all but a paperweight & have had to splash out another £200 on a 550EX. I don't know why Canon couldn't have made the 10D backwards compatible, apart from the obvious extra sales!
I've heard of some early Canon DSLRs that were capable of using A-TLL, but all the new one's seem to require E-TTL?
I also found the VG-10 vertical grip really useful on my EOS 5, so will be letting Mr Credit Card buy me a BG-ED3 for my 10D.
Hope to go on safari in South Africa over October? Wonder if I'll win the lottery before then, so I can afford a EF100-400 f/4.5-5.6L IS USM? :D
