I'm looking into buy a decent tripod under a 75$ price range.
Any recomendations?
And what is a remote switch good for? The only use i can think of is a self prtrait, but that can be taken witrh the timer option, right?

Even on a tripod, it is easy to induce some camera shake when pressing the shutter button. Plug in a remote trigger, compose, focus, then step away and press the button on the remote. The only chance of shake left, barring the wind of course, is when the mirror locks up to expose the shutter, and that can even be eliminated with the mlu option.

Amvona 6703...Ebay/ Built like a tank, heavy versile! I like mine, is it the enda all be all....No But I'm pleased. and it's not far from your $ range
However if I ever summit any mountian higher than 175' above roadlevel...it will stay in the trunk due to weight!
Don't decide based on my recomendation....But do have a looksee!

To reiterate what Pman said, the act of pressing the shutter release, even when using a trpod, introduces vibrations and shake that can blur your shots. The problem increases with focal length.

It's easier to get candid shots when you are behind camera .

For that budget, check out Amvona Dynatran AT-828, AT-858, and AT-6703 on eBay. For just a little more $, the AT-L104T and AT-L105T (both legs only) offer better quality.
Good luck.
