I am looking for a bag (of any style really) that will hold all my gear. I don't need anything overly fancy, waterproof or anything like that. Just a nice larger bag. I rarely tote all my equipment as I am just an amatuer/hobby photographer. So, maybe 2 times a year would I need to bring the whole collection. I have seen a tamrac rolling suitcase locally that I liked, but $500 just to have a place to put my stuff seemed a little high. Any recommendations?

List is:
1DsMkII
1DMkIII
Xti
70-200 f4 IS
70-200 2.8 IS
100-400
24-105
50mm
2X 580 EX
chargers, batteries, filters, etc etc
(eventually a 16-35 will be added and possibly a 180 macro with tubes)

gee carpenter- you're well-equipped for an amateur. That stuff must weigh a ton!

I got the RSV pelican , it has a 380 ex , XTI w/hand neck strap on , 4 lens , batteries , power supplies , a HP photo printer , TC-80 N3 remote hand remote 2 laptops 17"mac and 15" p.c. 50 sheets of paper , an extra ink cart. cleaning kit, 8 filters . It has straps on outside for tripod - it's got a little room left but not much . There are pockets for batteries , cards , chargers on outside [ photo paper is in one ]
It also has wheels and comes with water proof cover .
It was $233 out the door .
I took 6 or 7 dividers out for printer and remotes

nice looking bag, You think would be big enough for 3 bodies (2 large ones) 3 longer zooms and the rest of the the supporting cast? Keep in mind the charger for the mkii alone is as big or bigger than a 580ex. I actually like the idea of being able to tote along my laptop as well.

Have you looked at ThinkTank Airport Security ($359) or Airport International ($319?

I am considering one of these for a future trip.
Hope this helps.
