Okay, here's what I have right now:
Canon Digital Rebel
Battery Grip
420EX Flash
Lenses:
Sigma 12-24mm
Canon kit lens 18-55mm
Canon 50mm f1:1.8
Canon 28-105mm USM
Canon 70-200mm f4 L
UV filters for all but the Sigma, circular polarizers for the kit lens and the 28-105.
4 batteries
1)1 GB memory card
3)512MB memory cards
Tripod
Monopod/Walking stick
HP 7960 Photo Printer
I feel like I am pretty set for the time being, though I am planning on a couple more GB cards and I am thinking of getting a 50-500mm Sigma sometime before our next vacation out west. I also might get a large-format printer later on.
Am I missing something? I am new to the whole digital SLR (or heck, ANY SLR) thing and am trying to play catch-up, so I keep thinking there is something obvious I have missed. Just FYI, I mostly do landscape and some wildlife photography for my somewhat newfound hobby, though I also will be doing snapshots and event photography for the family.
Any thoughts?

FLASH: You have caught up!
Actually you might consider a 1.4x TC. Oh wait. I see you're considering a Bigma 50-500.
Hmmmm...Maybe get a 10D or MKII? You need a second body. 8)

In no particular order...
Good cleaning supplies
White balance gray card (unless you use raw)
Extension tubes
Good Printer/Good paper (and photo program)
Adequate camera bag(s) (small, medium, large)
26 hours in the day
Pretty models
More money
Maps to get to interesting places
Plastic zip-lock bags in case of rain
The indespensable white towel with a thousand uses.

The one obvious thing I see you are missing with all of that is an assistant to carry it all.
How about insurance? Have you checked on that?

This is how it works - you start shooting with what you have and then buy more equipment once the existing gear starts to limit your possibilities or style. Let's say you discover that you're into macro thing - then the answer is simple, you have to get one of the macro lenses.
People think that they have to covered from all angles - 8-600mm in lenses, 20 spare CF cards and batteries, 5 tripods and heads, 3 flashes etc - it's just wrong !
Go out, shoot and enjoy this SLR world of photography. Only buy equipment when really needed.

If I were in your shoes, I would get an Epson printer and I'm assuming you have photoshop elements. I would buy some of the good photoshop books and learn the program. Buy the full version of photoshop someday and it will reward you with its versatility. Photoshop is why I am a much better photographer than I was with film. I learned a lot from the Scott Kelby books. He's a terrific writer and a must for digital photographers. Read, practice and ask questions on this forum and you will develop into a very good photographer. You have a tremendous list of equipment and you now need knowledge gained by experience. That takes time and not a lot of money. As you improve, move up to a better body and more L lenses. I have a part time photo business and I learned by reading and experience. I love photography even more now with the digital age. Practice is free with digital. When I grew up on film, practice rolls were expensive so you have a real advantage over me. Good luck and I might add that you have great equipment to start with.

In no particular order...
Good cleaning supplies
I do have a cleaning kit with a squeeze-bulb air blower/brush, alcohol solution, lens papers, etc...
White balance gray card (unless you use raw)
Extension tubes
Good Printer/Good paper (and photo program)
I am using Elements right now. Is CS worth the jack? I can't really afford CS right now.
Adequate camera bag(s) (small, medium, large)
Right now I have a Lowepro that's kinda medium but (barely) holds everything. If I get one more lens, I will have to get another bag... :D

TELL me about it...I carried basically my whole kit (well, not the printer...) on a 10 mile hike in Zion National Park earlier this month.
