Got 2 PWs, setup my Sigma DG500 Super to SLAVE MODE (e.g., C1/SL) to turn off optical mode. Then I checked cables and batteries are working. Still no luck firing the flash. The PW LEDs are blinking when I test fire, but the flash isn't firing. The cable that came with my PWs (rented them) is PC sync to miniphone, and I run the miniphone plug into the PW. So I went out and bought this to connect my Sigma to the PW.

Could this be the wrong piece, and I should really just get this?

The second item may or may not operate the flash, but it's the type of device I would start experimenting with.

You do, in fact, need the second piece. The first is what you'd get if your _camera_ didn't have a PC connection and you needed one.

Ah, thanks guys for clearing that up. Much appreciated!
