Hey all,

I've started to get some dust building up on my lense. Not much, but a noticeable amount. I'm new to this whole 'expensive camera so don't wreck' thing, so how would you suggest cleaning it.

Thanks,

BB

Exterior dust on the lens surface can be cleaned with a bulb type blower device like the Rocket Blower. I routinely use the blower before and after putting a lens on my camera. I find this keeps the lenses clean and reduces sensor dust. Never use canned air as the propellants can dry on the lens surface as a film. I also periodically use Eclipse Soln. and Pec Pads to clean the lens as needed.

Another reason to not use canned air on lens elements is that if you TILT the can too much, propellant may also come out, and can freeze on the lens coating. This may damage the coating, and you'll forever have a slight discolouration.
