Just wanted to share a interesting link (Canon Japan site) that explains (Canon) printers and papers. It's rather simplistic and non technical but there were a few things I learned just going through it.

i wouldn't buy photo paper from canon if you want a really nice print. i use epson paper for proof prints and it's decent, but for final prints Moab papers are the way to go.
can canon printers use third part ink and external ink supply kits like epsons?

Thanks PacAce! Learn something new everyday! I am especially interested in going home and trying out the enable ICM box and see what happens. Right now everything on my I960 is Auto :) And all I use when printing from Photoshop is to print from my work which is in Adobe RGB direct to printer using the Print Advisor for print type and paper type :) I want to see what turning on Vivid and ICM would do :)
