Hey folks, just wondering if anyone else has run into this issue:

I just bought a Rebel XTi/D400, and at the same time bought a ProMaster 4gb 60x CF for it.

Using this card, from 50% - 75% of the pictures were "currupt data".

Going back to the store, I tried another new 4gb card... same issues.

Tried the 4gb ProMaster card in the floor model with the same results... lots of corrupt data.

In between tests, the cards were formatted.

Then tried a 4gb 133 Lexar card in my camera, and it worked fine.

Anyone experience this before? Was it the 60x speed of the memory that was the issue?

I ended up just going with a 2gb ProMaster since that seems fine, and still gives a heck of a lot of HiRes pics!

Thanks!

If the card still showed corrupted data after formating it in-camera AND on a different camera AND with a different CF unit of the same brand, then I would definitely avoid that brand altogether. CF cards aren't all that expensive. Try a Sandisk II or III. Or try the budget cards from Transcend. None of these have ever given me problems.

For anyone playing at home, I just got a SanDisk Extreme III 8gb of Compact Flash for $129.99. Catch is, you have to buy it off the web site, and then pick it up at your local store. They dont seem to have it marked if you just walk in without a web order in your hands!

My 2gb will now be my spare. :)
