Who uses what and are you happy with it?
Canon's Zoombrowser?
Adobe Photoshop? Version?
Other?
Pro's and Con's to the above.
Thanks :)

I currently use JASC "AfterShot” very simply & intuitive to use. I'd recommend it if all you actually need is basic photo processing...

I use BreezeBrowser and Photoshop 6.0.
BreezeBrowser is fantastic (I will register it very soon)

I use a Windows PC (AMD Athalon XP 2000+ with 512 MB memory)
The software I use mostly is ACDSee for quickly viewing pictures and Adobe Photoshop 7 for editing - although I am very new to Photoshop. I can't do much yet - but I am learning.
ACDSee 4.0 rocks for generic viewing of any images - but it can't talk directly to a G2 - only a G1. And even though it *seems* to support RAW images (it registers the extension to the program) it crashes the program if you try to view a RAW image with ACDSee

I usually use Jasc's Paintshop Pro for most editing. I use it for cropping, rotating, resizing, and some simple gamma/color stuff. If I have some complicated color or retouching to do, I use Adobe Photoshop. I also use Photoshop for any batch type processing. For instance, I copy the images I want to publish on the web to a seperate directory, and use Photoshops batching to open them all up, resize them to a specific size (usually 640x480) and also create a thumbnail with the same filename plus the letters _tn at the end.
I dont use any software to retrieve images from the camera. I have a USB CF reader, and just use Windows Explorer to copy the images directly to my hard drive. Once they are on the hard drive and verified, I use the camera to erase the images. I also use the camera to format the CF card occasionally.

I use Breezebrowser (much quicker & friendlier than zoombrowser, plus has some handy slideshow & html generation features), breezedownloader (way quicker than the canon downloader, and it generates a .txt file with your exif info at time of download), my main editing software is Paint Shop Pro - I've been using it for years, partly for price, partly as it's not such a system hog as PhotoShop (working in the computer industry, my own pc always seems to be the last one I upgrade... hence system overhead can be an issue!)... I've got a photoshop LE floating around somewhere on my system too - mainly for some of the filters to be availabe to Paint Shop Pro...
Hope that helps...

Photoshop 7 or whatever the latest version is at the time, for all my photo editing needs, includeing batch processing, and making contact sheets.
As for viewing I have used VuePrint for years, it's a great simple/fast viewer, with options to covert and save images after making rough ajustments (rotate/brighten/darken/etc.).
I've used other products but I always come back to these two!

Since I am a Mac addict, I use Canon Imagebrowser and Photoshop 6.0. With a G4 Mac, all the programs rrun flawlessly.

I have been using ACDSee for some time now and have been quite pleased. Although I am proficient with Photoshop, I have found some of the editing features in ACDSee to be quite good.

I use BreezeBrowser for most of my image processing and of course for raw conversion.
When I need an actual image editor, I use Ulead's PhotoImpact version 7. Why? An earlier version was included when I bought my first scanner years ago. Got used to it and have kept up with the upgrades. It's a pretty nice image editor.

I use Corel Photo-Paint for detailed manipulation and EXIF Image Viewer (http://home.pacbell.net/michal_k/) for viewing and exif data extraction. I extract the EXIF data for a set of files into to a single text file and then also make a spreadsheet out of the same data.
I am looking into using BreezeBrowser as well.

GPhoto 2 under Linux to download the photos - it's ok but a bit buggy.
GIMP also under Linux to edit the photos - it's not as nice as PSP under windows but then it's free and that counts for a lot...

Hi
for general viewing of images, including a slide show feature, I use VuePrint (shareware)
for image enhancement, Corel Photopaint 9
for downloading from the CF card I am using a SanDisk card reader (very simple to use) and to view, BreezeBrowser which I find much better than ZoomBrowser - if you go back a bit on the Forum you will find a number of users unhappy with ZoomBrowser
there is a very good and useful Yahoo Group for users of BB

I use ACDSee 4.02 (if you have 4.0 go to the website and update) for viewing
For editing I use Arcsoft Photostudio 2000 is very simple to use and you can do basically everything... I also use Adobe Photoshop Elements... but definitely Photostudio is much easier...

Hi,
I use breezebrowser (soon will register) for browsing and photoshop 6.0 for editing and printing. Canon zoombrowser crashed many times on my computer.
I also strongly suggest Digital Photo magazine, available from UK ( http://ww.emagazines.co.uk ). This is the best digital photo mag I've ever seen. It comes with a cd each month which includes step-by-step tutorials for photoshop. It is also very amazing. Canon G2 was the best-buy camera in the August 2002 issue.
Sincerely,
Hulusi

Hi
After getting a CF reader I have switched to that as oposed to the Canon Browser. I then use Graphicconverter to view a contact of the images but then I have sort through the ones that need rotating which it can also do in it's covert section.
I then use photoshop.

For cataloging, I use ACD See. I received an OEM copy of 3.1 with my HP Photosmart 100 printer and I like them both (I also use the printer to upload the photos since it has a card reader - the card shows up as my h: drive).
For fu-fu printing - fancy boarders et al - I use MGI Photosuite 4.
For working with file size for emails and uploading to a website or for creating thumbnail gifs, I use ULEAD SmartSaver Pro.

I don't like either Zoombrowser or Photoshop 5.0, both of which came with my G2....will invest in something more user friendly and capable of using my "artistic" abilities...any suggestions? Just received my camera last week and you all are talking about Photshop 6.0 and Breezebrowser. Did I get ripped?

I'm running a Mac G4 (OS-X) system, so I use Apple's iPhoto for importing JPEGs and Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for image manipulation. I also use Canon's software for importing RAW files and saving them as 48 bit TIFF files. The RAW mode is what convinced me to buy the Powershot G2. You can get some amazing details and tones from those files.
