Check out using 2nd Curtain Flash, so that the light trails go behind the rider and not in front! Good work keep taking photos :)

Nice shots! Looks like his face/chin has been in contact with the ground recently, or?

Thanks for the comments! I'm using the onboard flash, so as far as i'm aware, i can't adjust the sync of the flash, correct me if i'm wrong.

I tend to pre-focus on teh point, so that explains why some are a little OOF.

I am going to hopefully do a lot more mountain bike shots as it combines my 2 hobbies lol.

Thanks again!

As said above, use 2nd curtain flash, I take it you were using the 400d? If you were you'll find the 2nd curtain flash settings under:

Menu
Custom functions
Then scroll across to 9, then change to 2nd sync.

Also change to the AF to AI servo, that way you won't have to pre focus on anything as the camera constantly changes its focus as the rider approaches you.

Other than that not a bad start at all, keep up the good shots.

Yeah play about with 2nd Curtain Flash, its on the 350d as well as 400d and all other Canon SLR's after 350d i believe!

Just remember to turn it off if you don't need it later on though!

Dont say we have another Mountain Biker/Photographer here, BLIMEY join the club! lol

Yep the last section is the dogs. Awesome scenery up there on a sunny day too.

I live 1 mountain away from Afan / Glyncorrwg, so access is pretty easy for me over there.

Whether accidentally or planned, the flash shots in the first few are really cool. The open sunlit shots are just okay for me.
