View Full Version : My moments of fame captured

Well, about 5 minutes from the end the commentator said he had seen a still shot of the incident and they showed my shot for a couple of seconds full-screen.

At the end of the show my shot was as you see below while all the credits passed through, so it got a lot of exposure. Sorry about the poor capture, but it was done with the RF signal rather than the video. The 'thing' in the bottom left-hand corner is the timer on my Sky Plus box (similar to the Tivo in the US).

Very, very Cool. 8)

Hopefully, this will not be your last moment of fame.

This may be the kind of image that 'gets legs' and pops up in conversations and (hopefully) other placements.

Have Fun,

Congratulations on your fame. I can see why they chose the photo, it is very good.

These two unfortunate racers, they are teammates?

That is excellent, Kenny. Between you and Jim, I've seen more great auto racing photography than I deserve to see. :)

Just wondering Kenny....
Did you submit this photo or was it used without your knowledge?
You need to be paid for your work!

Congratulations Kenny! It says a lot that they chose to use your image twice in the broadcast. The prominent credit is a nice bonus.

I didn't submit the photo as a satellite TV channel doesn't normally spring readily to mind as an outlet for photographs. I was contacted by one of the program producers who was aware of that particular photograph. We sorted out the arrangements over the telephone, believe it or not while I was trackside doing another shoot. I did check to make sure it wasn't April the 1st as you do in these circumstances. These guys are very straight and copyright minded as you may imagine. I actually forwarded them the image for use in the program.

I am meeting up with them in a few weeks time at another Legends race event for a chat. Don't know what the future holds in this direction, just see how it all pans out.

The only people who got that shot for nothing were the drivers and they have stuck to the personal use only agreement.
