The horse and rider were fine...just a bit shocked....I took hundreds of photos and have some that are really nice....hope to go to Bleinham and Burghley too..
Glad you liked them..

I like the second image. It's almost like a snow storm. Wouldn't mind seeing a sequence on the first one.

I can think of a few captions for that first pic :)

Certainly caught the moment.

I can see why you would feel sorry for her, Dawn. I'm sure she was heart broken.

But I must admit, there's a bit of irony here that made me snicker a little. It's as if the horse was like, "you want me to jump again?!", and she was like, "yep, if you want another sugar cube, you'll jump it!" So the horse, all hopped up on sugar and apple cores, misjudges his leap and curplunk — they go down in a heap of mud. The comical part is how the horse just gets up and walks away no worse for wear. But the girl, her ego bruised, clothes dripping, shoulders hunched in an obvious display of despair — the girl is left behind with a pocket full of soggy sugar cubes. "Winny, winny, laugh, laugh," says the horse. :)

Thanks for the sequence. It really tells a story, don't you think?

Nice pics Dawn. I'm off to Burghley myself, and looking forward to it too! I have some really good shots from there in recent years.

It does tell a story....it has a comical side to it although I wouldn't have fancied being chucked into that horrible water LOL

Paul, I'll be there at Burghley....haven't been before, but loved Gatcombe, I also have a pass for Bleinheim...

Incredible shots! This is one event I've not been able to photograph yet. Fabulous job!

Oh my....what a sequence. Very nice series indeed.

Though its not surprising that many want to ban this type of events. Man the horses AND the riders gets some beating from time to time.
