I know that each image is looked at differently and different tech are used to achieve each image but he has this feel to most of his images I just can't figure out how he does.

He can just get objects to POP right now.

And his skies are always insane

Anyone have any good advanced tutorials they can point me to to help me get my grip on some good post processing...?

Look around on http://good-tutorials.com is the best I can tell you...The photographer seems to be at the right place at the right time with the right eye, that's his secret basically.

It looks like he's using HDR for sure on the second one and maybe on the first one too. Plus the fact that he has a good eye.

Photomatix Tonemapping is going to give you that dirty white clouds look so it could possibly be something like that. The Shadow/Highlight tool can give you very dramatic clouds too.

He sure likes to mask in that same sky / same type sky into quite a few of his images. I like his style so don't misinterpret that comment. Yes, looks like hdr and tone mapping. Also selective color.

so you don't know what LucisArt is right?
Google it and have fun.

(You can get the same results by D&B + High pass filter)

I've had that plugin for a long time now. I have achieved similar, abstract effects, but not the same as what this guy is doing. There are others that come close, orton, for example, but not the same.

I've read about an S curve in Photoshop with Curves. Maybe that might help achieve his photo's effect.

His photos inspired me to do one of my own. So I took a picture of a tree in a desert on my recent road-trip, and I decided to post process it:

Here's another sample. I like the second pic from the top (dark clouds, shack, field) because of it's abstract feel - the effect is sort of broody. The "darkish" effect did not look good on this pic, but it might be headed in the same direction. Achieved with quite a bit of tweaking of levels, curves, saturation, and shadow / highlight masking/tweaking.
