Well Folks, I just got back from town and I am impressed. I post processed the following image using the method I outlined a while back and had it enlarged to 13x19" on a Canon i9900 inkjet. There are no jaggies, no signs of oversharpening and no enhanced grain, yet its still sharp as a pin. BTW this image was shot at ISO 400 w/ my 10D and 28-135. There was No de-noising done to this image. I have done alot of 4x6 test proofs extracted from enlargements up to 29x44", but seeing a full size enlargement is unbelievable.. WOW..

The 8 color Canon i9900 will be my next printer......

nice shot, there is a big motorcross event here soon, i need to go...

i think the text you placed on the pic is extremely unattractive...guess its just not my style, but ive been getting into typography a lot lately, ive noticed that i critique just about everything i see that has writing on it now

When you took the shot, did you save it raw? Is that the right term? Sorry, trying to take in all this digital stuff! For a traditionalist like me, it's quite the work out.

Great Shot!!!

I have a bit of advice though, although the Canon i9900 is a nice printer.
I would highly recommend the Epson 2200. You can beat the amazing quality of this printer, it is the professional photographers choice.

Well thats a first! LOL never had anyone critique my text before. What type and style would you suggest? The original poster is just an ad for the Moto X events, however I am open to new ideas for the future. Thanks for your comments...

IMHO unless you can't wait to see the pictures forget the printer!! I just sent a picture off to Shutterfly.com for a 20X30 print. AMAZING!! The detail is unbelievable. It is processed the same way they process regular 4 X 6 pictures!! The quality is outstanding even when you get very close to the picture. I only paid $22.00 for the print (found out I could have went to yorkphoto.com and got it for $13.99). Just a thought!!

Meesha this image was saved as JPEG high fine only. I do not require Raw for the work I do...

Of course you are correct there danik, but alas, I don't do enough business at that size to justify rolling out too much cash for a printer. Thanks for your input.....

Thanks for the heads up. I had heard of places that do large prints for a good price in the US , but up here in Canada they are still pretty costly.....

True enough though, at that price I can get alot of prints done for the price of the printer......

That is really an impressive photo for a raceway poster.
I'm glad to hear you like the lens. I received mine yesterday and am looking forward to using it as my new walk around lens.

Unfortunately, the Epson is also dog slow. Based on a ZDNet performance test, the Epson 2200 @ 1,440x720dpi took 3.8 minutes to print an 8"x10" vs. 1.5 minutes for the Canon S9000 @ 2,400x1200. The S9000 is two generations older than the new 8 color i9900.

Epson vs. others tends to become somewhat of a "religious" discussion, similar to Mac vs. PC :)

I'll have to agree with you there Dale. That i9900 spit out that 13x19" full color glossy in just about 2 minutes. Pretty impressive.

Where1.. You'll love that lens, its not an L ,but it certainly does a fine job and is very convenient...
