This is probably not the right place, but I'll ask anyway.
I was thinking of buying a soft focus lens recently and ended up not buying them so far. Meanwhile I made a portrait of this woman, and I tried to duplicate the effect of soft focus lens here. Please tell me, did it work, or is it off mark so mach, and I still better off buying lens?
Thanks a lot!

This is too soft for my taste. Also, try to sharpen the eyes.

I was not just tying to make a soft portrait in this case, I was trying to replicate an effect of soft lens. Since I dont have one, I'd like to hear some opinions on how similar this effect is to a real thing.

Judging by Canon 135 soft-focus shots I've seen, I'd say no. They have a diffused light and ephemeral quality that I think would be hard to match in PS.

See these examples (not mine) in the Pbase lens database: http://www.pbase.com/cameras/canon/ef_135_28_soft_focus
