Actually it's not a Curve-Billed Thrasher....it's a Cactus Wren

Cactus Wrens (http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/Infocenter/i7130id.html) have straight bills and are very closely related but the Curved-Billed Thrasher (http://www.mbr-pwrc.usgs.gov/Infocenter/i7070id.html) has a curved billed which is what i have posted here . The wildlife interpreters at FtDavis identified this one for me because of the curved-bill . You have a good eye tho noticing the similiarity of the CW and the CBT .

LOL...either way, the bird is really a cactus wren. The mottled back and the big white eyestripe eliminates the thrasher.I grew up in Texas with both species as yard birds. Looks like the wildlife interpeters misinterperted this one.

Ok seems your right about this one . I had questioned it myself so i sent it in to a wildlife place that correctly identified it also as a Cactus Wren . Glad that is straight now . I wasn't totally disagreeing . It's just that i thought the interpreters at the park knew what they were talking about but probably by an honest mistake they identified it wrong . Probably won't be the last time they do and probably isn't their first time to be wrong . Sometimes it's just really hard to correctly identify when your looking through a glass pane . Sorry about the confusion here .
