Hi

I have some AVI files created on my Canon A70 that need to
be rotated by 90degs. I can load them on to my pc and rotate
using QuickTime say but when I output and try and put them
back on to the flash card I have problem. The flash card
uses Motion JPEG OpenDML data format. QuickTime can read this
OK but will not write back in this format. Instead it uses
cinepak as a default.

I'd like them back on the flash card so we watch directly
through the TV.

Any suggestions ?

Try virtualdub.org and download their freeware program. This will allow many manipulations and editing of your AVI clips. One of the "filters" allows the rotation that you are looking for. One little problem: the program also allows you to combine a series of AVI clips by "appending" one clip to another. However, you cannot easily combine a landscape mode clip with a portrait one.
