I didn't like the straight bw conversion. Does this work?

I like the shot a lot. The receding water looks quite surreal.

My son is the boy on the left and the 2 other kids are his friends. I am thinking of actually getting this one done up on a canvas and putting it on my wall. I not only love the shot, but it was a great memory for him at the beach as he and his friends had a ball collecting shells.

I think that you should do that. This is a beautifully shot candid that has special memories for both of y'all. It really makes me feel good...:D

I like both the original and the conversion - I think you pulled off the conversion nicely.

I think you are right, much better than a straight conversion.
