I just wanted to say hello to everyone. This is my first post here, and I am new to the world of digital photography. I am transitioning over from 35mm. I've been shooting with a Canon Rebel G for about 11 years now and figured it was time to join the 21st century! Besides that I can't afford film anymore. I just picked up a 350D on E-Pay this week and can't wait to figure it all out. I'm open to any advice that may help me. Once I figure out how to reduce the size of my pictures I will try and post my first shot.

Welcome!! I look forward to the post!

if you have photoshop, reduce your image size to below 800 pixels on the longest side, go to save for web feature, save it at less than 100kb :)

good luck!

Welcome! It's a great place to learn and to be tempted into buying great toys. But you probably already knew that. :)

Welcome to the forum! If you got the software that came with your canon you can also use that to reduce the size of your pics. Use Zoom Browser, select the images. To select more than one hold Ctrl down as you click on them. go the the left side and hit internet button, then email images. Check the resize and compress button, check the long side button and enter no more than 800( I use 640), then set it to about the third highest quality setting(or whatever will keep it under 100kb).You can check the size if you hit the calculate button. Hit the next button on the bottom, select where you want the images sent to( I usually have an email folder) and then hit the finish button. Pics are now resized and ready to upload to here. Hope that wasn't too basic and I wasted your time. If it was just tell me to shut up and I will. Any way I hope you enjoy your stay here and learn lots. I have and continue to everyday.

Thanks for the help on the posting of pictures. Here is a shot of a few ducks my wife found for me today. It's at a small park called Mill Race in Northville, Mi. I was playing around trying to do everything manual today. Once again thanks for the help!

This was the best one of about 60 shots I took. I didn't have a CPL and the lighting in the creek was terrible. But this is why I switched to digital, it's a little more cost effective!
