Grr! Dontcha just hate it when the phone rings and somebody starts a spiel like they're interested in hiring you to take photos then all it turns out is they found your website (probably via Google) and want to sell you search engine placement? That happens to me regularly. The first time I couldn't figure out what the guy wanted and still baffled asked "is this going to cost me money?" before telling him to get knotted when I found it would.

The next time, I sussed out early on what the guy was peddling and told him to get knotted too.

I mean - honestly - they Google your website then try to sell you search engine listings? Talk about mooching!

Do what I do. I keep a list of every company/person who solicits me or otherwise comes to my attention through what I call "unethical practices." I make a point of never buying anything from anybody on my list, no matter what it is. And I spread the word.

After all, unethical is unethical. One cannot be unethical at one time and expect me to trust them at another.

Sad to say, there are POTN members on my list.

you havnt learntthe trick of puttin the phone next to he base and just walking away comming back in 5 minets tell them you got distracted and to start again

then repeat till
a. they hang up
b. you get bored

I don't know which one of my "friends" got the bright idea and/or thought it would be funny to sign me up with the Spanish speaking telemarketers. Once ever couple of days I get a call to my cell phone from an automated Spanish language telemarketer type thing that wants me to do something or other...

I was thinking about hooking them up with a subscription to some kind of gay porn magazine that would be delivered to their door monthly.

Unfortunately, not many of my friends are married. That would be an interesting prank to play on a married guy. :lol:

Lol. One of my friends had been ignoring me for a while so I sent him (he was currently dating 3 women) a letter from the Whips 'n' Bondage holiday agency stating that his weekend had been cancelled due to a police raid. His girlfriend saw the humour in it which was a shame :p

Hmm.. In the States we have the national do not call registry. Register your phone number and it stops nearly all of that solicitation. I get maybe 2~4 calls a year form solicitors. Unfortunately pollsters, political parties and charities still get through.

Isn't it wonderful that, no matter what the legislation, the politicians exempt themselves and their friends.

You ought to read the U.S. Code sometimes, and see how many exemptions the American Red Cross has, even in the area of health issues.
