Hello everyone! I recently purchased an S45 from an Ebay auction, and while the camera itself is great and works perfectly, the seller did not include the Canon Digital Camera Solution CD-ROM that comes with all Powershots. (He also swapped out the OEM USB cable with one that is 6" (yes, inches) long but let's not go there.) I have sent him a followup email asking for him to send the CD-ROM via normal USPS, but he does not respond.

I *was* able to download the driver from Canon's self-help site, so my immediate concern has been addressed. Also, Canon has a bunch of updates to the various software applications, but the installer will not allow you to install the updates if it does not sense the original on the PC.

I was wondering if anyone could spare 10-15 minutes of their time and transfer the contents of thier CD-ROM to a shared online space so I may burn my own copy. From what I can tell, the software applicatons are pretty robust. That being said, I really want to take advantage of the different applets on the CD (the stitching application is of particular interest).

I am a Windows XP user. Thanks in advance to all who read!

Mike

Wouldn't that be illegal?

I don't believe so. I'm just asking for a copy of what should have come with my camera.

Call Canon. When I got a second-hand New F-1 without manual, I called KEH, who had one listed for $12. The guy I spoke to there told me it had gone, but to try Canon and gave me an 800 number (sorry, it was many moons ago, and I can't find it - if it's even still good). The person I spoke to there sent me one free. Had a similar experience with an "open-box" laptop from HP which was missing the recovery disc. They sent me a new CD gratis.

You might try the Canon Accessory store:

It should have come with the camera is correct. It would be illegal for someone else to provide you with a copy, as the license does not state that we are able to distribute software instead of Canon.

If the seller promised the camera to be complete, request your stuff from the seller, then give him a nice negative feed back so other folks know they may get short changed.

To get the software, you'll need to go to Canon.

Hope you got a good price on the camera. Some of that savings can be used to complete the system.

I had a friend at school drop and break my A70. So, I've since replaced it with a new one.

But, I still have the USB cable and the Digital Camera Solution Disk Version 11.0.

I can those to you for a small fee. (Shipping and a few bucks for the cable if you want it.)
