Nice shots but way too over-processed for me. Still I'm sure they have a place.

I'm a big fan of number 2.. you've got halos in all though, so you've overcooked them.
Good effort though mate.

You need to go to http://www.photomatix.com then download the program.
Take a picture, make three copies all about 1 f/stop apart, merge in the program and do tone mapping. It's easy! You can also take 3 pictures at the spot. Expose one dark, then normal, then blow it out a bit. You'll need a tripod for that. I am sure there are more ways than that to get a good HDR image.

I Really like these, But I would like to see perspective control to straighten out the buildings.

Pantboy is dead-on here.
Use your bracketing function on your camera and go the full 2 stops in both directions. Shoot RAW, off load and PP and run through photomatix.
I have been playing around with photomerge in PSCS2 to achieve this style as well.
