Is this really considered graffiti? To me this looks like sanctioned artwork. You know the kind where businesses allow artists to put their work on the sides of walls. The artwork is incredible. To me graffiti is vandalism, not artwork. See the following link.

I really love your pictures by the way. I especially like #1 and #4.

Nice captures of nice work. Hopefully it is "sanctioned" as was the case with Lawries.

Cheers David,
The pieces are sanctioned, the laneway is run as a gallery for "street art". The stencil style has really come along way in Melbourne lately:cool:
thanks for the compliment on the pics, it was one of my first goes at shoe mount flash:p

You guys are so damned lucky to have such nice "graff-art-i" (changed the word in response to zippy. LOL) near you guys. And especially for it to be sanctioned. Over here in Asheville, NC, its completely illegal no matter where it is. :|

Theres only two bits of work or pieces in this series that is by graffiti writers / artists they being "Phibs" -Originally from Sydney and "Poise" A female writer. The rest of the work is street art by street artists. Nice work on the link to artcrimes, Thats like the online bible of graffiti.
It's hard work taking photos in lane ways. Good work.:)
