Why do so many people wait until the day before to ask for advice? Don't they realize this is a forum, not an IM site?
To answer questions asked recently in various places...
If your first wedding is tomorrow, you're too late. Call a professional to sub for you, and be prepared to pay big bucks. We cannot teach you to be a skilled wedding photographer in one day.
If the birthday/aniversary/whatever is tomorrow, it's too late to start on-line shopping. Just buy something locally. He/she can always exchange it.
If you're leaving on the trip tomorrow, just go and use the lenses you have. It's too late to worry about a new "perfect" lens at this point.
In other words, if whatever the occasion/event is is tomorrow, it's too late for us to help you. You'll just have to wing it.
Procrastination is NOT a virtue.

Hey.... This is not restricted to this forum.
This is the perfect answer: "Your lack of forward planning does not constitute an emergency on my part".

Then there's the counter slogan, "Of course I want it today. If I wanted it tomorrow, I'd ask you tomorrow."

I used to try and help some of those out people out. Then it became more clear that it was more laziness than good planning that they are waiting until so late to ask for assistance. I had this post (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=24778) that I made back in 2004 which is much the same theme. Some things just never change.;)

I enjoyed that thread, Sheldon. Especially Belmondo's response. :)

Only halfway tongue in cheek. Over the many years, I've officiated at almost every kind of wedding you can think of:
Mountain tops at dawn (requiring four-hour hikes in the dark);
In the water at the beach;
In swimming pools;
In hot-air balloons;
Sky-diving;
Bungee-jumping;
Timed for the pronouncement exactly at midnight, New Year's eve;
Time to coincide with a birth;
Combined with a funeral;
With animals as attendants;
Halloween themed (one with bride as a gorilla and groom as a nun);
Medieval themed;
Scottish themed, with kilts (and nothing underneath);
Hobo themed;
Star-Trek themed;
Various pseudo-druidic or celtic themes;
And, yes, nudist (but not me--I can't stnad thge pointing and giggling).
Life is strange, people are stranger.

Amen and hallelujah! And I'm not in the least religious.
