Does anyone know where can I obtain the above in Singapore or Malaysia together with the external charger.
Find that the original Canon BP511 is pricey at S$120.
Thanks.

I had a tough time finding something like this in Hong Kong and Singapore and ended up buying from http://www.batterybarn.com. Your best bet in Singapore is probably Sim Lim Square.

Be prepared to negotiate (although not so much on small items like this), and be very wary of dodgy goods.

What product did you buy from Battery Barn, and what is the quality like ??

I got the LIC-511 (i think).

Try this page:
http://www.batterybarn.com/bp511.htm

The quality is fine (as far as batteries go). The site claims that it has slightly more capacity than the genuine canon, I can't really tell the difference, so would assume it's true.

I've heard good things about the Lenmar charger too (although one person did mention that they broke the connector pins on theirs).

Dunno about the charger but I have bought a S$35 Megapower BP511 rated at 1200mAh. Works fine. Got this from a shop in Ang Mo Kio central called MS Colour

Hi All,

I went to MS Color Service as mentioned by cyaw and they have a whole range of 3rd party batteries...I also bought a lens adapter for just S$15. They also carry many other Canon G2 accessories like Speedlite flash.

Thanks to cyaw for the lead!

Yason.

The price is quite attractive. In HK, the 3rd party battery BP511 is about HK$300.

Hi Tony,

My fully charged original G1 battery is now getting about 10 shots before the low-battery icon appears -- but it's lasted for over a year, so I'm not too concerned.

Could you tell me where to find the third-party battery in Hong Kong?

Thanks.

Don

Easy to find in some large computer shopping mall e.g. SSP Golden, Mongkok computer center, Wan Chai computer city.
