I like the second one but both images need rotating clockwise and the sky on the second could do with so postprocessing to bring out more of the colour. Also, a slight crop to the right and bottom would knock the church further off centre.

Yes, composition is definitely better in the latter, based on David's suggestion. Perhaps, if you have PS CS, you could try the Shadow/Highlight function to bring back some more detail in the dark areas, especially the church?
