30 miles away as the crow flies there is a forest fire that exploded on this day, all that you see in the sky is smoke this was a cloud free day. i believe that the fire only grew 16,000 acres that day, but i think that the majority of it happened from 6pm to 9pm. we had ashes landing on us from the fire which was again more than 30 miles away as the crow flies.
just thought that the pictures were interesting, i haven't processed any of the photos except these and i only sized these.
i did learn some about forest fires talking to the guy who owns the property with the firetrucks in the drive way, there is a 20 20 80 rule. if the wind is 20or up and the humidity is under 20 and the temp is 80 or more the fire fighters just leave.
there are more here and i will post more as i get them done, i am trying to actually get to the fires, but they tend to frown on letting people get close, rightfully so.
again be sure to check more of them out here, http://www.glacier-imagery.com/gallery/main.php?g2_itemId=832
i like the church picture, the sun shining on the white church while the back ground is blackened from the smoke
