I assume many of you shoot RAW and convert to TIFF? Then, for web presentation you convert TIFF to JPEG?

Well, if it's yes for both questions then I have a question for you. How do you recover the EXIF data? Right now, I'm using Breezebrowser to do this. It's great! A few clicks and it automatically copies the EXIF data from the RAW file to the JPEG file. It can even do this is batches.

However, I only have the free unregistered copy which has a limitation of viewing (processing) 12 files per folder. That's a bit of a pain because I can only process 6 photos. The thing is though, I'm not sure it's worth purchasing the registration if my only use for it is EXIF copying.

Does anyone have an alternative (less expensive) way?

I am working with "Exifer for Windows". And it is a comfortable, effective solution for free without restrictions (for private use)! Have a look at it under

Thanks for the reply! I've downloaded it, installed it and played with it a little. However, it doesn't seem to do what I want it to do.

First of all, it can't read EXIF data from RAW files. That means I need to extract JPEG for it to read. If I work with TIFF images then that's double extraction work per RAW file. Plus, there doesn't seem to be an easy way to transfer all the EXIF info from one JPEG to another.

As I said, I've only played around with it a little bit so maybe I'm missing something. Still, it only took me a couple of minutes to figure it out using Breezebrowser. So as it stands, I find it easier to just copy photos to and from a folder 6 pairs at a time.

By the way, what do you use Exifer for?

You are right "Exifer" does not read the exif-info directly out of the raw-file. But it does read it from the according thumb file!

To transfer the exif information to another jpg file, you just tell the program "insert from file" and the work is done! It is that easy! It is quite convenient in my opinion.

I am using "Exifer" for the exact same reason as you: I need to transfer the exif information to a raw converted jpg-file, as my database/gallery system (Pekka's "Exhibit Engine") can processes these data without any further work for me.
