This is something you won't realize until you look at the pictures back on your computer, but those water reflections have to go. I've tried the same thing with some leaves to find out the reflections killed the shots. See how much nicer the bottom third of the picture looks compared to the top 2/3 that has any detail wiped out by the reflection?

Water on leaves can be good, if you can minimize light reflections in the water. Plus for doing macro shots you have to be careful about DOF. f8 doesn't really do it here. See how the top of the image is a bit soft.

Here's one I did a couple saturdays ago. It was very overcast in the morning. This was iso100, f22, 75mm, 44 seconds. There is a little bit of light reflecting, but not much.
