We've done a few smaller weddings, but this was the first big wedding that my wife and I covered. It was an all day event, from getting ready to the last dance. It was worth it. We had so many great photos of the couple and their day. I could probably post 40 or 50 but narrowed it down to just a few.

I appreciate everything that I have learned from you all on the forum and hope that I put it to good use...Let me know what you think!!!:D

Great set.

I always have problems posing group shots comprised of an even number of people. You did very well posing the ladies! The selective colorization, on the other hand - well that's a personal taste kinda thing.

I generally don't like shades on the guys in photos, but this one works for me - especially as they all have them on.

Hey, looks like you did a great job there Adam, and everyone really looks like their having a great time In front of the camera.

Is that midnight sepia in shot #4, very nice, how long did it take you to do all the flower detail in the selective colour shot, Im sure the couple are delighted...your so right, this forum provides some great ideas and massive inspiration....great work.

Thanks for all of the positive feedback!

#4 is a midnight sepia, good eye! The selctive coloring was a tough one it took about 1.5 hours to get right. The long wispy green part of the bridesmaid's flowers was tough to get right. One pixel at a time! We felt like the shot really popped with the coloring though.

There all nice images...The Selective colouring is a Nice image how ever i find their faces too dark( a little to much wasted space above their heads and they fell a little sqished)
also..... im not sure on your techniques, that image sould realy take no longer than 10mins maximum to pshop, personally id do it in 2-3 mins or under including the fine wispy details.. without writing a novel id Personally look at a few more photoshop sites/tutorials, the image needs a mix of tools in the right sequence, not just selective colour.

I agree Toby. Normally it does not take that long to do a good selective color, but in this image we really had to actually create some color. In the original color image the end of the wispy greens actually had no color or were taking on a color cast from whatever was near them. In order to make a selctive color look good and not look incomplete, we actually had to create color in the ends of the bouquets.

Thanks again for the comments. I hope there are more coming. I would really like to get more feel for what other photographers like and/or what they would have improved or done differently.

Hey, just thought that I would add in a couple more fun shots. In the pyramid shot, there are actually two bridesmaids in the back holding the bride up. We were all laughing so hard i could barely take the shot. Great spontaneous group!

WOW!!! I have never seen photos that have the groom w/ the bridesmaids, and the bride with the groomsmen. Very creative!

Haven't been lurking the wedding forum very long then? :D

AdamJT,
Love the background light on the last shot. Looks like you blurred the background a bit in PS (left edge of dress is a bit soft)? Did you take one with them looking at each other or in a kiss? I think that would've worked very nicely with the background light. Seems like the couple is a bit underexposed; might be worth a shot to lift the exposure just a bit. Nice work, and it's great to have a fun group to work with!

Hoping a few others might join in yet. I was really hoping for some C&C.

Thanks!

Hey Adam, I think you have a nice set of pictures.

1. Great intro to the day.
2. becoming a common shot. You did good
3. I don't know if I like this one. She doesn't look right for some reason. I think she will like it though.
4. I like it. Creative. I am wondering if it could use more cropping. I wouldn't be scared to chop off the bottom of the bride or even make it Horizontal.
5. This is my favorite. I really like how you set them up.
6. I like how you included the arch but then agian I wish they filled the picture more. Have you tried cropping? They will like the selective coloring
7. nice
8. Can you sharpen it any more. A good picture. It is hard to get sharp pictures when they are moving.
9 and 10. My Brides request these types of pictures too. Fun. I nothice you croped the boys in a 5x5. Can you do the same for the girls.
10. I'm not sure about this one. I like the set up but they look a little dark.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone and so much positive feedback, that's a great confidence boost.

Audra, I really appreciate the C&C, that's what really helps to improve the next time around. We have another wedding this weekend, so hopefully we will have some more to post.

Hey just saw these Adam! I am honored to have inspired you enough to challenge yourself and try new and exciting things. Remember to ALWAYS push yourself each and everytime you shoot which will keep you fresh and excited everytime you pick up the camera!

Great stuff and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out!
