Photoshop and printing on Selphy 720

Hi,

When I take the memory card from one of my cameras and upload the image to my computer to edit it in Photoshop and then place the edited image back in the Selphy CP720 to print, it doesn't recognise the photo. Why? What am I doing wrong? Any help?

Have you checked the file format? I'm not sure, but I don't think the Selphy's will recognize all formats?

The file size may be too big.

The problem is likely that the file structure and file names aren't DPOF compliant. Look at the file structure and naming directly out of the camera, then emulate it.

I believe that there's drivers to connect the printer directly to your computer - which would probably be the easiest thing to do.

Why don't you just print directly from the computer to the Selphy? That's what I do.

I have the same problem with a Selphy 710...

Prints beautifully as long as the images are taken by the camera, but when you transfer something from the computer to an SD card, it just doesn't display on the printer at all. I've tried putting JPEG images onto the card with Windows 7 and Mac OS X - no joy.

I haven't been able to find out that much about DPOF (digital print order format) other than that it's a way of encoding stuff about how an image should be printed, used by digital cameras. I guess if the file transfer process from the computer doesn't include this, this may be where we're going wrong...

Any more ideas folks?

Its a cunning Canon plan to make us use the direct print button, otherwise known as the most useless button ever put on a camera. Presumably this printer is sold as a direct from camera printer?
