Both are superb! Is the color correct on #1. It looks almost black and white? I'm not familiar with that KF species.

Two great images here and the first is one is awesome. Normally I would want to see more room in front of a bird on profiled flight but the vertical works here.

Beautiful images. Excellent job showing a maturity way beyond your years.

How did you get that one to fly upside down? Oh wait, its a reflection! It looks almost as crisp as the real bird. :D

Nope David, that one isn't very new. It was taken just as it flew out of the water, pity he wasn't succesfull with a catch though.

I'm almost at a loss for words. I've chased the Belted Kingfishers here for a few years now and getting close enough to get a decent shot is extremely difficult and very frustrating. To get a flight shot of this quality is off the chart for degree of difficulty.

Congratulations, these are award-winning images. WoW!!

Well if the guestbook is any indication this is the beginning of a legacy for this young man.
Dang! Nothing like a good dose of humility to keep you centered.

Well done young man, well done.

Hi Kirsten, you are holding up the SA flag so well here too, as you know, I have been so impressed with your images for a while now and I am so pleased you are getting the recognition wider afield that you deserve for all your efforts and patience, once again, VWD on a great set of images, john

Thanks very much for the positive feedback again everyone, really apprecaite it. I cropped to portait from the origonal landscape shot. Still pin-sharp after the minor crop though.
BSBXTi, I use a Canon 10D and 400mm 5.6 for all of my birdlife images.
