I'm not quite ready to take this step, but I am curious to what you guys think.
Digital has taken over. Let's face it. Film is not obsolete, but I would like to start using digital for the most part. I own an EOS-3 and am thinking about selling it and using the money from that, plus some bank, to buy a used 1D. I don't want to really wait for the 1D M2 to come down in price, and the D60 and 10D are not really for me.
What do you think?

Sounds like you're ready to go digital.

So, how much for your EOS3 body? I could use a "chemical memory" backup.

I would also be interested in the EOS 3 body. If I were you, I would hold on to your film camera...you might miss it later. However, if you really need to sell it to ger the money for digital, so it goes. I am keeping my film body until full frame digital SLR become affordable. I am a wide angle fan, so I am not big on the crop factor.

There is only one problem with going digi - all that free trial film you get on the covers of magazines and stuff keeps going out of date before you get round to using it.

I wouldn't sell the film body if I were you either. I started out photography with a digital, but I'm about to buy a film body to play with. I find the whole darkroom process fascinating, and would think that working with film, and processing my own negatives will give me a better understanding of photography as a whole, and nurture my artistic approach to it (which has yet to solidify as I would like... it's more like pudding right now  ).
Don't sell your film body. Just wait until you save enough for a digital body. That's what I would recommend anyway.

As most people said, I would agree, don'yt sell the fim camera. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks for the input you guys. Main reason I want to sell is just the fact that once the promary expenses are done and over (camera, cards, software, etc) then it's incredibly cheaper. I won't have the money either way for a while, so I'll keep dwelling on it.
Again thanks!
